Is A CSA Right For You?

A CSA membership isn’t right for everyone. If your family is only one or two people who don’t eat many vegetables, or if your are a picky eater who likes to stick to the same sorts of food every week, then your CSA veggies may end up in your compost pile instead of in your dinner!

The type of people that are succesful with CSA memberships are:

1) People who like vegetables! It sounds obvious, but CSA members are people who eat vegetables as a large part of their diet.

2) People who enjoy eating a wide variety of local seasonal foods. There will probably be some things in your CSA boxes that you’ve never tried before as well as some of the more traditional foods.

3) People who enjoy cooking at home at least three times per week. Many of the items in a CSA box taste better when cooked, so making your own meals is a must. Don’t worry though – you don’t have to be an experienced or super creative cook – recipes for the different veggies are on the website!

4) People who are committed to eating local sustainably grown foods and feel that where food comes from is important.
